Kung Fu Panda- Character Archetypes
HERO: Po SHADOW: HERALD: Master Oogway THRESHOLD GUARDIAN: Master Shifu TRICKSTER: The Furious Five (Initially), Mr Ping (wanted Po to quit to focus on noodles, discouraged kung fu training) MENTOR: Master Shifu ALLIES: The Furious Five MOTHER: No one fills this role, although Po's Father could also be fulfilling both roles as a single parent FATHER: Mr Ping (Po's Father) CHILD: No one fills this role, perhaps Po is as he seems rather childish initially, playing with toys ect.. MAIDEN: No one to fill this role. I don't think Tigeress is the Maiden as she doesn't need rescuing and she doesn't really fall for the hero SHAPESHIFTER: Master Shifu
Okay - so I can see how you're embracing the layering idea in your third drawing on here... but I think it's interesting that your windows/doors etc are all super-generic - the sort of windows and doors a child might draw when they think about 'buildings' - as opposed to the sort of windows and doors that a designer and Kuhn might visualise. I just don't think it's likely that you and your collaborator would be thinking in squares and oblongs as appropriate additions to these organic structures....

I hope these examples might prove my point!
