Minor- Mindmaps for story

@Alan - Proposed new story- Minor

Image
For the new story I was thinking of doing it on the way that academics gate keep their work with their language and that if someone new came to it, they would be completely baffled, as I have been when learning Post Modernism with Phil last year. Because of this, I'd like to make the animation more adult but keep the same animation style of a kids show, like Mary and Max. In terms of a story I was thinking Simon(the student) decides to get ahead on his work by reading the more advanced books in the library. After bringing them to life with a potion, he is unable to understand what they are going on about because of the language they use, and because they argue or disagree with each other and sort of gang up on him for not knowing their world. Simon ends up being confused, almost overwhelmed because he is not ready for the content contained. Mary (the teacher), knows he isn't ready and already put out the books he would need, ones that he can understand, as because she is a

Minor Project- Kids show to Comment on School/University and Academia

So after talking to Alan, my idea has changed slightly. This is due to the ending of my story not making too much sense. So the story is now about Simon being set some simple homework while Mary is out doing some things in the nearby town. Simon, not understanding the books, brings them and the other books in the library to life in an attempt to help him. The books, at first helpful, begin to argue with each other, debating magical theory and whatever Simon's homework is on. Simon listening to the books, starts to do his homework, before being interrupted by another book, telling him to write something else. Simon ends up crossing out and rewriting his work several times, while more books join in the debate. In contrast to this, Mary is out shopping in a much more calm and peaceful environment. In the end, Mary returns to the classroom, Simon exits the library, his book ruined after tearing out pages and crossing words out, steam coming out of his ears. The books end up foll

Minor Project Submission Aims- Laying out my thoughts

Image
Before making a full submission document, I wanted to put my ideas up on here so I can look back at them when I come to make a proper submission document, and so I can get another perspective on how viable my aims are. Overall, I am aiming to create an animated short, with the idea in mind to turn this into a kids show in the future. If the animation works on its own, it should be possible to turn it into it's own series. While I'm not planning to include things like series wide story lines, other side characters or a possible villain, I am thinking of these things in the background as they could be include in an Art of Document as other ideas for the future (mainly so I don't forget them, but also so people can see them) For the Minor submission, I would like to have the models of the two characters finished with their textures complete too. I would also like to have a good majority of the rigging done too, however I don't see myself having it 100% complete. I a
