Premise- World Logic

The world of this alchemist isn't 100% real, nor is it 100% fantasy. I think it should be:
40% Reality- I'm thinking the time period is around the Medieval era, but in a way it's a bit further on than that. The whole story should take place in a castle, perhaps one at the top of a hill or at least up above a town or city. The alchemist would be employed by the current ruler of the castle, perhaps a child ruler that wants the alchemist to make them anything they desire, or a ruler that's a little bit mad and maybe old too?
30% Fantasy- Since a big part of the character is alchemy, it would make sense to pair it with more fantastical elements. This would also allow for the monster characters to be a bit more varied and a lot more interesting. I'm thinking in this world there are also fantasy races like elves and dwarfs alongside humans, however since this story only really takes place in one castle, chances are they won't be seen
20% Steampunk- The crazy machine I designed in my Character Design project would need to be supported by a bit of steampunk. The size and design wouldn't really be seen in a world that didn't really have much technology in it. This should also let me design the character's tools to be a bit more interesting and more tool like. Also this should help them look more like they could be toys with moving parts
10% Crazy- I think it would be best to have a little bit of crazy in this world. It would make things more interesting in terms of the story, for instance the kind of things that the alchemist is asked to make and how weird they become when they don't go the right way.

Logic of the character:
20% Absent minded- The character should be absent minded, but not to the point of having a goldfish memory. Perhaps he is just easily distracted at times.
50% Inventive/Smart- The character needs to be smart, since they are an alchemist and create all these crazy things in order to aid him.
20% Clumsy- I think a clumsy character would be interesting, however a purely clumsy character would be more annoying that charming
10% Delusional- A character like this may get carried away with their achievements, it may be interesting to have a character that believes everything they create is the best, regardless of the quality or presentation of such creations.
