New Year, New Project - Collaboration

So its a new year and we have been set a new project titled 'Collaboration'. This project is unlike the others we have been set before, in this project we are working in teams. Over the past week we have been introduced to the project, we were given an envelope containing the start of a title, for example 'Wrong reaction to...' or 'Forgotten or Failed...'. My group was given 'How to cheat at...'. What we did first was list down ways to finish the title. We thought 'How to cheat at the Olympics' could be a fun idea, I personally suggested that the Pole Vault event could be a good place to start as someone could attach a big spring to the end of their pole and use that to get higher. It is also important to mention that this project is meant to be comedic in nature, as so most of the things we came up with needed to be funny.

Eventually we settled on a title: 'How to Cheat at Fighting'. It would be about a school student bumping into the school bully, or that type of person, and a fight breaking out for no reason. Then the student would try and cheat his way through the fight, using a range of ways to get out of or end the fight quickly.

However, this is only our first week and we are yet to have a tutorial with Alan to discuss our ideas.

We have also had to make a studio for this project, and we have chosen to call it Wasted Genie.

Premise Script v1 by Ollie Thacker on Scribd This is the first iteration of the story for my premise project. At first I thought I would do a story based on making gold, as that was the action my character was doing in my Character Design project. However I thought a pilot episode where the character makes his sidekick character. I'm also considering writing the gold making episode as an additional episode. The reason why is because I'd like to do my project as a pitch in order to get this show made into a real tv show. I definitely know there are some things that need changing, especially since this is the first draft of this script. @Alan - Proposed new story- Minor

For the new story I was thinking of doing it on the way that academics gate keep their work with their language and that if someone new came to it, they would be completely baffled, as I have been when learning Post Modernism with Phil last year. Because of this, I'd like to make the animation more adult but keep the same animation style of a kids show, like Mary and Max. In terms of a story I was thinking Simon(the student) decides to get ahead on his work by reading the more advanced books in the library. After bringing them to life with a potion, he is unable to understand what they are going on about because of the language they use, and because they argue or disagree with each other and sort of gang up on him for not knowing their world. Simon ends up being confused, almost overwhelmed because he is not ready for the content contained.
